Harpers Magazine, first published in 1850, is the second-oldest continuously published monthly magazine in the United States. Covered in the magazine are topics in literature, politics, finance, the arts, and more.

Harpers Magazine is known well for publishing original works of fiction and literary reviews. Recent issues of the magazine contain short stories, poems, and memoirs written by notable authors both from the United States and from countries like France and Spain. Reviewed in Harpers Magazine are literary works by contemporary writers as well as popular works that have surfaced from the past.

Each issue of Harpers Magazine contains articles on topics in politics and finance. One column titled The Anti-Economist proposes common-sense ideas and solutions that seem to clash with the ideas of mainstream economists. Other articles cover both nationwide politics and local political stories that are unique and captivating.

Readers of Harpers Magazine are treated to articles on topics in the arts. The magazines experts in the fine arts publish informed reviews on exhibitions being held across the country. Also included are detailed illustrations of groundbreaking works that may not be showing near many of the places where readers live.

A subscription to Harpers Magazine makes a great gift for anyone who would enjoy well-written articles on cultural topics like literature, politics, and the arts. On our website, you can either order a new subscription for yourself or as a gift, or you can easily renew a subscription to Harpers Magazine.

Review Title: Print Dinosaur
Reviewed by: Action-Packed-Jim

I am a long time reader of Harper's. They consistently publish articles that pique my interest. I read my Harper's 'zines' cover to cover.

Review Title: Great articles
Reviewed by: Speedybunny!

the articles are interesting and very in-depth, the covers and some of the art used on the inside could use a step up at times, otherwise a very interesting and informative read always.

Review Title: A nursing woman's companion
Reviewed by: Degabird

Harper's magazine is the perfect blend of leisure and serious. I subscribed to Harpers right after having my second child. Harpers magazine fits well in one hand while I hold my kid in my arms and breast feed. Harper's fills my head with thoughts, questions, answers and the oh so needed "adult" stimuli that is hard to get when one is a full time mama of two. If I find myself in a circle of adults, which is not so often, I am happy to have something interesting to share and that I give thanks to Harper's for.

Review Title: Balance
Reviewed by: Bobby

I look forward to the balancing for consistent direction of argument among interesting stories about humanity.

Review Title: Sneaky...
Reviewed by: Katie

Harper's always seems to have an article that leaves me staggering around for days, some unforgettable full exposure of underbelly, the effect of cause. This month it's "The Spy Who Fired Me." Unexpectedly, I will never look at another UPS driver without compassion. And sorrow, probably. A new formulation of sweat shop in the electronic age. And how about those people have to "fulfill" orders for Amazon?

Review Title: 21st Century Limited/ July 2014
Reviewed by: Caroline

Wish to say hat Kevin Baker's Folio article "21St Century Limited," was almost as good taking the actual trip. Loved every minute of his verbal journey. Thanks.

Review Title: Quality

Hands down the best edited/written magazine around.
